This Privacy Policy describes how MPK Tec AB ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the Mileage Log app (the "App"). Our core principle is to respect your privacy. The App is designed so that your journal data stays on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud database.
During normal use, MPK Tec AB does not collect or store any data from the App. Journal data, attachments, and limited technical diagnostic logs are stored by the App on your device and, where stated below, in your private iCloud database.
Journal data and attachments are stored locally on your device. When iCloud is enabled and available, they can be synchronized between your devices through Apple's private CloudKit database in your own iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store your trip or vehicle journal data.
Diagnostic logs are an exception. They are stored only in the local Library/Caches/Diagnostics cache, are not synchronized with iCloud, and may be removed by iOS.
The App does not use location or motion data unless you start a GPS trip or enable features that require it.
The App uses Apple's official CarPlay integration to support trip start and stop and to display an active trip in the car. CarPlay usage does not send your journal data to us or third parties.
The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo or scan a document. You can also select images or import image and PDF files. Apple's document scanner processes documents on the device and saves each scanned page as an optimized JPEG image; it does not create a PDF. Existing PDF files can be imported from Files. Attachments are stored with the vehicle journal entry locally and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud database.
If you enable Live Activities, an active GPS trip can appear on the Lock Screen and, on supported devices, in the Dynamic Island. The Live Activity shows only that a trip is active, its duration, and GPS distance. It does not show addresses, the route, driver, vehicle, or other personal details. You can turn the feature off in the App or in iOS Settings.
PDF and CSV reports are generated locally on your device. Images and imported PDF attachments can be previewed and included in locally generated PDF reports. Data and attachments do not leave the App unless you choose to save or share a report or attachment through the iOS share sheet. Information shared with another person, app, or service is then handled by the recipient you selected.
For troubleshooting, the App keeps up to 30 privacy-limited technical session logs, using approximately 2 MB in total, in the device cache. Logs may include the App version, iOS version, general device model, language and region, time zone, Low Power Mode status, technical App events, and controlled status and error codes for features such as iCloud, CarPlay, trips, data storage, and location services. They may also describe technical settings such as the selected distance and currency units.
The logs do not contain GPS coordinates, route points, addresses, names, vehicle registration numbers, purposes, projects, notes, monetary amounts, attachment content, or journal identifiers. Logs are not synchronized with iCloud and may be cleared by iOS.
No diagnostic file is sent automatically to MPK Tec AB. A file leaves the device only if you choose to export it and select a destination in the iOS share sheet. If you send a log to support, it is used to troubleshoot your support request.
The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. MPK Tec AB does not sell user data.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store payment information. The App receives a transaction confirmation from Apple so it can determine whether the purchase is available.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
