What is civil twilight?
Civil twilight is the period when the Sun is between 0 and 6 degrees below the horizon. The app also calculates nautical twilight (6–12°) and astronomical twilight (12–18°), plus sunrise, sunset, and the golden hour.
Does Civil Twilight work offline?
Yes. All astronomical calculations run locally on your device. A network connection is only used by Apple Maps for map tiles and place-name lookup when you choose a location on the map.
Can I use Civil Twilight for EASA and FAA night planning?
The app shows calculated EASA and FAA night time boundaries for a location. These are calculated estimates for planning only and are not an approved source of aeronautical information.
Is Civil Twilight a subscription?
No. Civil Twilight is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no advertising.
Does the app track my location?
No. Location permission is only requested when you tap the current-position action, coordinates are not saved unless you explicitly save a location, and the app keeps no location history and does no background tracking.
